Dr. Josh: Redefining Influence Through Medicine and Fitness

Meet Dr. Josh, a distinguished influencer and accomplished medical professional who has redefined the meaning of influence. Unlike the conventional influencers who rely on social media clout, Dr. Josh uses their Doctorate of Medicine to make a real difference in people's lives. Whether it's helping individuals lose weight, overcome PTSD, improve relationships, cure diabetes, or heal injuries, he has the expertise and dedication to facilitate and empower others to be their best selves.

His journey into the world of fitness began at the age of 11. Struggling with a fat gut and a less-than-stellar work ethic, his parents decided to intervene. They bought Josh a pair of running shoes and insisted on daily runs. Initially, it was a gruelling experience, marked by poor health and a strong dislike for physical activity. However, this early push laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to fitness.

Over the years, Josh has transformed from a reluctant runner to a seasoned athlete, competing at both national and international levels in various sports. Today, his focus is on overall functional fitness. He lifts heavy weights, builds resilience in his tissues, and trains his cardiovascular system across all zones. As Josh likes to say, "Stop moving, start dying." Even as I type this, he is on his treadmill desk, embodying his philosophy of perpetual motion.

"Stop moving, start dying."

His mornings are a testament to his dedication and discipline. Most days, he will rise at 5 am, beginning with red light therapy and a strong cup of black coffee. Three times a week, he  immerses himself in an ice bath before diving into his training regimen. His fitness routine is meticulously planned: three days of zone 2 cardio and three days of heavy lifting, all done in a fasted state. This morning routine sets the tone for a productive and energized day.

Dr. Josh’s approach to nutrition is as disciplined as his fitness regimen. He fuels his body with a diet centered around meat, supplemented with appropriate servings of vegetables and fruits. On training days, he incorporates whey protein, collagen, and creatine post-workout. His dietary staples include whole foods, coffee, water, and salt, ensuring his is always at his peak performance.

He lives by the mantra, "Live like no one is coming to save you." He embodies personal responsibility and accountability, believing that these values are crucial for leading a fulfilling life. His vision is clear: to be a beacon of strength, resilience, and adaptability in a world that often seems unpredictable.

As a parent, Dr. Josh and his wife Britt are firm believers in preparing their children for the challenges of the road ahead rather than smoothing the path for them. They have two young daughters and Josh strives to be the kind of man they would want to marry. Strong, confident, and supportive, Josh provides a safe space for their daughters to grow and thrive. They believe that true masculinity involves holding space for the feminine to shine, and they are committed to building resilience and adaptability in their children's characters.

Josh acknowledges that life is inherently difficult and full of suffering. However, he chooses to face these challenges head-on, with a smile on his face. This proactive approach to life's hardships is what drives him to do what he does. By choosing his suffering, he maintains control and ensures that he is always moving forward.

Dr. Josh’s goals are as ambitious as they are noble. He aspires to be a present father and husband, to help those around him, and to break free from the constraints of taxes, debt, and dependence on a system that does not serve him. He constantly challenges his own thoughts and ideas, striving to be resilient and adaptable in all aspects of life.

In Josh, we find inspiration and a roadmap for living a life of purpose, strength, and unwavering commitment to personal growth and the betterment of others.

I have known Josh for a LONG time, he is a no nonsense type of dude who will tell you exactly how it is and how he feels, he doesn’t know what “sugar coating” is and he isn’t a “yes” man. But, when you accomplish something or make some moves, a compliment from Josh holds more weight than you know. It means you are doing shit right.

Josh will be a big part of The Forge Life…keep an eye out for his articles. He is a very valuable resource to this community.
